A mediocre beachside restaurant on Miramar Beach

The Whale's Tail is a beachside restaurant located on Miramar Beach on the Gulf of Mexico. The restaurant has two good things going for it, an excellent location and a very hard working staff.

I encountered the restaurant the night before. Anna and I were in town for a music festival and the event hosted a free concert on the beach by Marc Broussard the previous night. The beach was packed, the music was amazing, and the restaurant staff busted their asses to handle the crowd and deliver food and drinks to the audience.

Fast forward to the next morning. Anna wasn't feeling very well, so I went looking for somewhere close to grab breakfast. The Whale's Tail was the closest place to our condo and it was open.

When I got there, I tried to sit at one of the picnic tables on the patio, but it was a cool, windy morning (like most mornings on the beach) and I figured my food would get too cold from the wind. I decided to eat in the restaurant instead.

The menu was limited, but had great comfort food options. One thing of interest on the menu was a crab omlette; I didn't try it but may try it the next time I'm in Miramar Beach.

I ordered the Whaler which is basically eggs, meat, starch and bread. They served it on a paper plate and it was OK, not really great. There was nothing interesting about it at all

I wanted to bring food to Anna for when she felt better, so I ordered the bacon and egg breakfast sandwich which, for some bizarre reason, was a two-pack. Opening the meal when I got back to the condo, I noticed that it was just all dumped in the container, not actually setup as sandwiches.

We struggled to find good breakfast places near Miramar Beach, but I'd look for better options before coming back here again.
