Classic small town diner with excellent comfort food.

The Coffee Shop is the epitome of our idea for the small coffee house/diner. My brother lives in the area, so whenever we're in town and everyone else is sleeping, we make the trek into Sylva to grab breakfast here.

Its a very small place, nestled up against the woods and around the corner from the paper mill. A row of stools up against the counter, 6 or so booths and a couple of tables and that's it. Its very clean and the wait staff is always friendly.

The menu is simple, all comfort food items. No frills or anything fancy. I always get the regular breakfast: eggs, sausage, hash browns, and toast. Exactly what I need to kick off my morning in the mountains.

Looks like the restaurant has been around for about 70 years.

The restaurant changed ownership since we first started coming here. I remember in one of our early visits seeing photos of Confederate Generals on the wall by the cash register.
