An old diner with lots of room, great service and excellent food.

We were in Atlanta to see a concert (Stephen Wilson) and the next morning went looking for a place to have breakfast. We were staying with friends and they recommended the Silver Skillet.

Nestled in downtown Atlanta, it was a complicated drive from Buckhead. Its in a business area, not where I expected a diner to be. Here's Anna and me outside.

Its a fun place, with hand-written signs on the wall, even snack size boxes of sugary cereal. Here's an example of one of the signs "Use a little sugar and stir like hell. We don't mind the noise.":

Our waitress turned out to be, I think, the owner. There was an old magazine or newspaper article on the wall talking about the restaurant and her, much younger, picture was in the article.

This place is the perfect example of an old, larger sized diner. Its been around for ever and the food and service were fantastic.
