Anna and I were flying home from watching the US play Australia in Seattle (2026 World Cup) and headed to the airport early hoping to get on an earlier flight. No luck there, so we went looking for breakfast. We were at the airport very early on a Sunday morning, so most breakfast places weren't open yet.
We found one place called Floret and sat down to order breakfast when we discovered that it was a Vegan restaurant. I had no idea until I noticed that the standard breakfast plate didn't have any meat on it. I had to ask to find out it was a vegan place.
We walked a little further down the terminal and found the Africa Lounge. A quick look at the breakfast menu and we were in. Now this place is not our typical kind of breakfast place, but when in an airport, you don't have a lot of options.
The Africa Lounge is a typical airport bar/restaurant, but, obviously, in an African theme. The menu had the standard simple breakfast options like the breakfast platter with eggs, a meat, and potatoes. The even had Country Fried Steak, which really surprised me.
The service was excellent for the initial portion of our visit, the restaurant was pretty much empty and our waitress was very attentive at first. As we progressed through our visit, she started ignoring us and I'm not sure why since the restaurant didn't get any busier.
The country fried steak was about what I expected from an airport restaurant: a low quality meat with canned gravy. I enjoyed it, but it really wasn't all that great. My eggs were excellent and the potatoes were good. I'd go back if I ever needed breakfast in Seattle Tacoma Airport.
